Network specialist program graduates work in large and small business
and government offices performing a wide variety of technical duties.
In roles such as network administrator and network specialist, they
maintain network hardware and software.
Network specialists analyze, design, install, test, and support
systems such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks
(WANs), Internet, intranets and other data communications systems.
They provide day-to-day on-site administrative support for network
users in a variety of work environments. Network administrators also
may plan, coordinate and implement network security measures.
People who choose careers in network administration and analysis are
detail-oriented, analytical problem-solvers who thrive in a team
environment. They are generally mechanically inclined, enjoy
challenging themselves and learning new concepts.

PROGRAM OPTIONS
“I am a Security Analyst for an Arlington, Virginia based
firm. I travel the country doing network security testing at VA hospitals.
I work with professionals with 10 to 15 years of experience, and my HCC degree got me here.
If I can do it, anyone can! I gained my skill set and
confidence from Dee Skinner and the rest of the Computer Science/CIS faculty. If
you like computers and want a career, put your heart into it and
get started!”
