The Marine Science & Technology (MaST) Center is the marine laboratory for Highline Community College. Located just four miles south of campus at Redondo Beach and halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, the MaST Center, is dedicated to expanding knowledge about the Puget Sound and the surrounding environment through teaching, outreach, and research.

What's up...  

  1. Water Weekends start June 28 from 10 am to 2 pm. The MaST Center is open to the public on
    those days.

  2. Summer Camp
    July 14 -18, 2008

  3. Summer Classes at the MaST
    June 23 - July 17
    July 21- August 14

  4. Beach Naturalist Program at Redondo 
    June 7 and 21
    July 5, and 19.

 

Our brand new, 2,500 square-foot facility, open early Summer 2008, situated on a 260-foot pier over the Puget Sound, offers public space, classroom, laboratories, and office and research areas. With more than 2,000 gallons of flow-through saltwater tanks, holding more than 80 species of local marine life and easy access to a huge diversity of nearby habitats, and state-of-the-art equipment, the opportunity for research and education is almost limitless.
