A strong, useful HTML title will
aid those looking for the content of YOUR web page. The content of
the HTML title tag

is NOT typically the same as the page title
(e.g. "How to" Tips: Title Tags)

is seen in search result listings
-
is the first component of any web page that is
"read" and indexed by search engine spiders
-
is included on any page that is printed
How to Create the Title Tag
- With the web page open in FrontPage, place the cursor in the middle section of
your page
Right click, choose "Page Properties"
In the pop up box, the current page title will be highlighted. Change content in this box.

Click OK.
Guidelines for Creating Title Tag Content

Generally, try to put the most important
parts of your title in the first 60
characters or less (this includes spaces and punctuation)

Include the text Highline Community College
-
Use words associated with the page topic.
For example:
Writing Center~Tutoring Help for Students~Highline Community
College

Each page should have a unique title
